February 2007

Ground Boring Began The Last Week in February.

The relocation fever was high for February as we witnessed the initial steps to the Land Development take shape.  Nakamoto Corp. has the lead in the process while Rheko continues to be the key coordinator between the local land owners and the government.  Pending any unforeseen delays, this phase of development should be completed during the month of May.

While we continue to work with Nakamoto and Don Highlander on the architectural details, we are also busy putting together a marketing plan for the sale of the land left over after final demolition.  We have had a prospective buyer wanting to build a condominium complex on the site, but he desires the church to be vacated in four months. We had to decline, but this gave us a good indicator of the interest this lot will present.

As the above picture shows (looking south) Koza is located on one of the highest spots in Okinawa City.  In fact, a visit to the City Hall today verified that we have the highest elevation of land suitable for building.  Now the government officials were quick to point out that their six story building was higher than Koza but I suggested, “Not for long.”

This is truly a great site, not only for the view but just a five minute walk to city hall and about ten to Music Town located on the southwest corner of the blue crosswalk on highway 330.  Please pray for a contract to be let soon in order to put us in a better financial position to ensure the construction phase will not be delayed.

To date $122,729 has been received with pledges now at $345,805.  Many of our most recent Koza Family members from the ’97 to ’06 period should have received emails this past week.  Some may be reading this now and saying, “Lord, why didn’t Koza connect with me?  I want to give to this cause!”

Well, we appreciate your interest and suggest you drop us an email and we’ll correct the matter.  Seriously, it has been a joy to see the response to date to the campaign.  We are still on target as the Lord leads many to join us in our efforts to “Rebuild for Revival!”
