On April 7, 2008 the scaffolding and netting were removed from the backside of the church as one would unwrap a present. Not just any present, but a gift of God made possible through compensation and contributions only He could orchestrate. Not just any present, but a gift of God as seen in the cooperative spirit of the building committee.
It is a challenge, to say the least, to bring confident conclusion to color schemes when working with a talented group of experts. But the Lord led an architect, interior designer, artist and an Alabama administrator to agreements just short of a miracle. Any question of how the exterior color scheme would look on the large scale was answered on this Monday morning. Neither the architectural rendering nor the countless paint samples screened through could match the beauty of the building before us now.
For those who expressed disappointment in leaving the trees along the street leading up to the previous site, the Lord has responded. Shown below are the newly planted trees along the road adjacent to the new church seen in the right background.
